Diane & John Sheppard

PDECT LLC

PDECT is the creation of John & Diane Sheppard. John spent thirty years in the Specialty Chemical Industry as a salesman, sales manager and contractor. John has solved cleaning issues by selling cleaning tools and cleaning products such as Tennant, Minuteman, Fuller Custom Brush, CK Enterprises and 23 years with ZEP Sales & Service. Diane has been a manager for Secondary School Food Service & Sanitation for 25 years.

Good tools and good chemicals are essential to optimize LABOR in any cleaning situation in any industry. LABOR is always your largest expense.

Most equipment is made for large jobs. It can be a riding or walk behind floor scrubber, buffer or burnisher. Outside of the large machines, for smaller areas there are three basic items: mop & bucket, brush on a stick, squeegee, none of which are new or especially efficient.

John saw an existing tool totally outside the cleaning industry, that if properly modified, would make a significant impact on the labor commonly expended in many smaller cleaning tasks. This tool is much more efficient in operations where large machines are wholly impractical.

John saw the Weed Trimmer as much more than a landscaping tool. Adapted with the proper tools and coupled with advances in battery technology, the trimmer could fill a new role. The trimmer can now come indoors.

POLISHING

The speed of battery trimmers exceeds all high speed burnishers by 1100 rpms. This advances polishing to the next level. Never before could Stair Landings and Steps be polished. (only with hand held polishers &  knee pads) They can now!!!

SCRUBBING

The advancement in attachments gave us larger gear ratios (3 to1) that are now useful for brushes. John saw several common flaws that kept now expired patents from being successful.

  1. Yesterdays’ trimmer rotated the brushes over 8000 to 12000 thousand RPMS. The tips of the bristles never touched the floor and rendered useless.

  2. “ASSEMBLY REQUIRED” will kill a product if it is not simple. None, in John’s opinion, were simple. The fact they never took off in the market pretty much validates that opinion.

John has designed tools for the trimmer to be used for Scrubbing, Stripping, and Polishing. These tools attach by simply locking the keyway on the trimmer head and screwing the tool onto the threaded shaft. It is very uncomplicated. With battery units now having high and low speeds, the tools work as if they were designed for the trimmers, “WHICH THEY WERE”.

John is not reinventing the trimmer; John has made new tools for “INSIDE” use that are “OUTSIDE” the current thought processes, aka “paradigm.”

John and Diane started PDECT to show the world they can get:

MORE CLEAN / LESS MACHINE
